PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Lead Developer                               2014 – 2014        University of Waterloo                              Toronto, Ontario
We were working on the development of the QSRP research platform prototype for the Multi-Organ Transplant Unit of Toronto General Hospital. I built the prototype database on SQL Server using data from OTTR and CoreTris.  I also built the prototype web application to be used by researchers to extract research cohorts out of the data warehouse.

Applications Analyst                      2013 – 2014       Rouge Valley Health System             Scarborough, Ontario
In my capacity as an Applications Analyst, I worked with end users and IT staff to perform requirements gathering, analysis and development of new applications, and maintenance and enhancement of existing applications. The last project that I worked on consolidated employee data from a number of sources (Active Directory, security, telecommunications, payroll) into a single SQL Server database and I then built a web front end to access the consolidated data source.

Clinical Informatics Specialist     2012 – 2013       Rouge Valley Health System         Scarborough, Ontario
As a Clinical Informatics Specialist I developed and implemented an internal learning management system (LMS) for the organization and I trained internal educators on the process of creating learning packages for the LMS.

Technical Support                        2010 – Present                                                                   Scarborough, Ontario
I live in an apartment building that has many older residents.  I provide technical support for desktops, laptops, Macs, and the various peripherals.  I also help out with the use of specific applications when needed, either solving issues or teaching people how to use their applications.

Analyst Programmer                     2002 – 2010       AIG Bermuda Limited                           Hamilton, Bermuda
I worked with end users and IT staff to gather requirements and analyze, develop, maintain and enhance applications and reports in accordance with project specifications, documentation, standards requirements, and audit standards.  I also trained users on the use of new applications and the enhancements to existing applications.  My responsibilities included the maintenance of Microsoft Access/SQL Server applications used by the Risk Management department and I championed the conversion of these applications from MS Access to VB.NET.  I also created custom applications for Risk
For the first five years, my position was that of an AS400 programmer analyst working on the HR and payroll system and I was part of the team that handled the migration from AS400 to Peoplesoft.

AS400 Programmer/Analyst        2000-2001          Altamira Investments                                  Toronto, Ontario
I maintained and enhanced existing online and batch applications and developed new applications

AS400 Programmer/Analyst        1997–1999         Group West Systems                                  Markham, Ontario
I consulted on Y2K projects for a number of client companies including Tupperware Canada where I was the primary programmer analyst.  I performed database analysis, designed the data migration processes, created the migration programs, and refactored existing code to ensure Y2K compliance.
